FMP | Evaluation Criteria and Selection Process

Proposals will be evaluated according to the following five criteria:

Evaluation criteria Points 

(1) Profile of the applicant

CV and research experience in the field of dissemination, transfer of knowledge and economic exploitation of previous research results, supported by patents.

 20 points

(2) Activity plan

Clarity and feasibility in respect of the timescale given the objectives identified, consistency with the applicant’s research activity and with the FBK Unit s/he works for. 

 30 points

(3) Professional growth

Acquisition of new competences for developing scientific (techniques or instrument) and complementary skills (proposal preparation to request funding, patent applications, project management, task coordination, etc). Contribution to career development and potential for an impact on the professional career of the applicant.

 20 points

(4) Contribution to FBK Unit/Center

Feasibility and credibility of the plan, also regarding to the contribution that will be given to the Unit/Center/Foundation in the return phase. Possibility of dissemination, transfer of knowledge and economic exploitation of the result for FBK (if applicable).

 15 points

(5) Networking development

Potential for creating/reinforcing international collaborations between organizations, ability to build collaboration.

 15 points

Only projects passing a threshold of 80/100 will be considered for funding.

FBK will ensure that researchers will be selected following an open, transparent, impartial and equitable selection process.

At the expiration date of the call, all applications submitted will be checked for eligibility by the staff of the HR Department. An Internal Selection Committee will assess the applications according to the above-mentioned criteria. The Committee will be composed of some researchers whose “seniority” is widely recognized, the Research Assessment Manager and a representative of the HR Department. FBK commits to ensuring, whenever feasible, an equal gender-balanced Committee.

In accordance with FBK's policy to promote equal opportunity and gender balance, in the event of equal evaluation of applications, female candidates will be given preference.

Publication of evaluation results

The outcome of the evaluation will be published on the FBK website by the 31st of January.

Applicants will be notified by email about the outcome of their applications, through a summary evaluation report based on the above-mentioned evaluation criteria. Mobility funds will be awarded according to the selection ranking and the available budget.
